The fabric you’ll be working on is Charles Craft 14 count Aida. Use an embroidery hoop to keep the fabric stretched tight while working, but be sure to remove the hoop when you’re not so you don’t get “hoop marks”.
The threads you will be working with are DMC Color Variations Embroidery Floss and DMC Cotton Embroidery Floss. The key on your Design Chart will tell you the number of strands to work with and what colors to use.
Each skein of DMC Color Variations is a combination of DMC Embroidery Floss colors. You can create beautiful designs with colors that compliment one another perfectly, by combining Color Variations threads with the solid colors that make up that particular Variations skein. This is ideal for samplers as well as mini motifs and borders.
Color Variations is designed to be stitched using any cross stitch technique, its color combinations will always show.
